February Monthly Meeting – The Benefit of Feeling Frustrated as a Parent
February 26, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm CST
Join us this month for a topic that I'm sure we could all benefit from, The Benefit of Feeling Frustrated as a Parent. We will be joined by Steve Cheney who will go over what frustration and anger are, what it can turn in to if not properly focused, and the ways we can focus our frustration that will help teach our children about dealing effectively with difficult emotions.
Steve is a counselor at the Austin Center for Therapy and Assessment, where he works with adults, adolescents, and families who are experiencing struggles with anxiety, depression, and grief and loss. Steve’s clinical approach is drawn from a variety of life experience, along with clinical training, that has equipped him with a strong commitment to mental health counseling and a living compassion for helping others. Steve earned a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University – San Marcos, is a National Board Certified Counselor, and is an active member of the Austin Group Psychotherapy Society. Steve is a two-time cancer survivor and has lived in the Austin area for the last 15 years, where he is helping raise a family with his wife and two step children.
