APOM July Meeting

July 31, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm CDT

With most multiples being born premature, speech delays are common. Join us this month as we welcome Leah Joseph, a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist. She is going to talk to us about signs to watch for, things we as parents can do to help teach and encourage our kids to use their words and more.

Leah earned her Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) from the University of Texas at Austin. Leah also received both a B.S. in CSD and B.A. in Linguistics from UT Austin. Her interests primarily lie in the areas of speech sound disorders, accent modification and culturally/linguistically diverse populations. Previously, Leah volunteered as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor at local non-profit, El Buen Samaritano. Most recently, she helped out with the early literacy initiative at AVANCE! Austin, serving Spanish-speaking children. Leah has also worked with Latinitas Austin, empowering and educating at-risk youth. At Bilinguistics, Leah works with children ages 1-21 years in the clinic and in the schools.
